St. Josaphat (Kuntsevych)
St. Josaphat’s is an intimate, family-oriented community that takes great pride in its warm hospitality and the preservation of the Byzantine Rite in the North Okanagan. Although it is a smaller congregation, it represents a diverse mix of ethnic backgrounds united by a shared love for the Ukrainian Catholic tradition and its liturgical beauty. The parish emphasizes a welcoming environment for all, offering services in a blend of English and Ukrainian to remain accessible to both life-long parishioners and new seekers.
Rev. Andriy Werbowy
Administrator
Father Andriy Werbowy serves as the Parochial Administrator for several communities in the Okanagan region, including St. Josaphat in Vernon, Sts. Peter and Paul in Grindrod, and the Holy Resurrection mission in Penticton. In addition, he serves our military as a Chaplain. He is responsible for maintaining the liturgical life and providing sacramental care for a geographically diverse flock, often traveling between these interior parishes to serve the faithful. His ministry is centered on fostering a close-knit community atmosphere and ensuring the continued presence of Ukrainian Catholic traditions within the North Okanagan and Shuswap areas.
